Thanks to Guerry Lumber for stepping up and help us improve the park! Beginning this week, we will have periodical access to their discarted and less than perfect wood! This will allow us to keep building features at the park – as well as lower our monthly maintenance expenses!
After a wet weekend and canceled Best Trick Contest last Saturday (second Saturdays remember?) – We had a great turnout for our High Stakes game of SKATE!
Here is how it went down!
1st: Justin A.
2nd: Brian U.
3rd: Mario
Really great turn out and lots of new faces! Keep in mind this will be going down again next month!
Here are some more pics:
And of course, here is a mugshot of the winner – Congrats Justin!
Catching up here on the backlog of posts – We had a busy week!
Last Saturday, we were part of the 2010 Boyscout Centennial Celebration… Boe and crew hang out with the various packs from the Coastal Empire Council… Everyone that participated in Boe’s skate classes, earned their Skate Belt Loop!
Check out the pics from that day:
Let us know if you are a pack leader and your scouts missed out on the skate sessions at this event. Boe will be happy to help you guys work on your skate loops at a private session at the park!
Another post on the sequence…
Unknown Joe – for real, we don’t know his name, doing a huge ollie off the bank:
Our own park rat Justin doing a huge boardslide…
Second Saturday each month!
Registrations at 7, contest going down at 8pm…
Bummer… not enough registrations… we will resume the week on our regular schedule…
Apologies to the few that did register…
We have decided to take the randomness out of some of our regularly held events… They are now monthly features! This should make it easier for you to plan and attend them… We will be passing out fliers with that info soon but here is the scoop:
Also note that with this announcement, we’ve converted our 1/2 off Wednesdays into Mondays+ Wednesdays 2 for 1… That means if you come alone, you pay full price… so, get off that Nintendo DS and go make some friends!
Well this is number two of this series…
Old man Joe, who used to skate this park back in the good old days when Woody owned this place, decided to show up! He skated Sunday’s hot afternoon with us and showed he still has some tricks up his sleeves… here he is throwing a varial-kickflip:
