Happy new year everyone!
Beginning January 4th 2010 Woody’s will be open only on days that schools are out… That includes Saturdays and Sundays of course!
The new hours will be 11 AM to 5 (ish) PM depending on the temperature outside… so, make sure to give us a call or check our webcam if it seems really cold out there…
Just to be clear – this is just for January and while the temperature is below 50f…
Feel free to email us with questions…
Our new friend Logan will be moving to Texas in a few days and needed a home for his 20 x 16 mini ramp…
There was lots of head scratching about the logistics of moving such a monster… but over the last few days, we managed to cut the ramp into six pieces and moved to its new home at Woody’s, of course!
Here are some pictures of the madness that went on…
Over the next few weeks we will be patching this baby back together…. keep an eye on our site to see our progress.
Thanks for the ramp Logan! And thank you to all who helped make this happen!
Busy day today making some fancy (not really fancy) big vert walls! Here’s some flicks of Josh and Bryan testing them out. Construction process photos to come whenever Josh decides to get photos off his camera (like three-four days minimum).
Click pics for bigger pics. Do it.
Not as many photos as I would have liked to have, but the mustached media man was judging most of the time and didn’t have his camera handy. Check out the Woody’s flickr set for some more pictures of the park and sequences from the competition day.
We had a great turnout on our first competition… Thanks to all who showed up and helped out making this such a great event.
The winners for the 2009 Woody’s competition are:
Beginner:
Intermediate:
Advanced
More info and pics when our media dude wakes up from his sugar coma…. 😉
We’re moving the date for the competition to Sunday to avoid the rain that’s predicted for Saturday. Everyone mark your calenders, 11am-5pm! It’ll be a good time!
With thanksgiving and some other craziness behind us, an update on our last fundraiser is long overdue….
What a day, we had about 40 kids over the park and raised 240 dollars for the Safe Spot Skate Spot program…
A big thank you goes out to our event sponsors:
Driftaway Cafe – $25 gift certificate
Jalapeños Restaurant – $50 gift certificate
Play It Again Sports – Krown trucks
Quality Bike – 3 $20 gift certificates
Kroger – $10 gift card (used to buy soda)
Little Caesars – 12 pizzas
Also inline for some big thank you is Jake and his parents, for hustling up goodies for the event as well as keeping the crowd engaged all day with mini contests and activities…
AND we can’t forget Jay and Shorty for their fine demo!
Thanks guys!
here are some pictures of the day:
We are stepping up our camera coverage of the park and could use some help from you…
Bring your old/under-used or flat-out-broken (usb) webcam and we will trade it for a free session!
We need about 5 webcams to wrap this park up with snazzy streaming magic! Email us if you have any questions…
A few of the regular guys spent the past couple days moving the mini ramp from its hidden away spot to (in our opinion) a much better location.
Here’s Bryan showing everyone why you shouldn’t skate in the rain. Be safe kids!
